Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has joined healthcare startup UN:BLOC, founded by serial entrepreneur Deepak Sahni, as an investor and member of its founding team. The collaboration brings together Singh’s experience as an investor and public figure with Sahni’s background in building healthcare ventures.
Yuvraj Singh’s association with Deepak Sahni goes back more than a decade. Singh was among the early investors in Healthians, Sahni’s previous healthcare venture, which went on to become one of India’s prominent at-home diagnostics networks.
Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Singh said he has known Sahni for over 12 years, dating back to the early days of Healthians. After learning about the idea behind UN:BLOC, Singh became increasingly convinced about its potential to address fundamental challenges in healthcare.
He said the opportunity to contribute from the beginning and support a mission capable of improving millions of lives encouraged him to become part of the venture.
UN:BLOC is the latest venture from Deepak Sahni, who has previously built businesses in the healthcare space. The Gurugram-based startup is currently operating in its pre-launch phase and was first announced by Sahni on World Health Day, April 7.
The company has positioned itself as a healthcare venture focused on questioning conventional approaches to patient care. Rather than simply addressing symptoms or managing conditions over the long term, UN:BLOC aims to explore the underlying factors that influence a patient’s health.
The startup has not yet disclosed complete details about its products, technology or business model and is expected to reveal more information at the time of its official launch.
Singh’s involvement in UN:BLOC further reflects his growing interest in entrepreneurship and healthcare. Through his investment activities, he has previously backed businesses across different sectors, while his personal journey has also influenced his interest in health and wellness.
His return as an investor in a venture led by Sahni highlights the strong relationship between the two and adds an experienced backer to UN:BLOC’s founding team.
Sahni said Singh’s continued support holds personal significance, particularly because he backed Healthians during its early stage when the venture had limited support. He described Singh’s involvement in UN:BLOC as a sign that the healthcare problem the team is addressing resonates with people who understand its importance.
UN:BLOC is currently working behind the scenes as it prepares for launch. While the company has kept several details confidential, its stated focus on rethinking how patients are understood and treated could make it an interesting startup to watch in India’s evolving healthcare ecosystem.
With Yuvraj Singh joining its founding team, UN:BLOC enters its next phase with a combination of healthcare entrepreneurship, investor backing and a mission aimed at creating a more fundamental approach to patient care.
