Innovation In Agriculture
Narayan Lal Gurjar, a Rajasthan-based entrepreneur, and his colleagues created a unique compost made from bio-wastes like bananas and orange peels in 2014. The compost reduced crop water usage by 40% and increased productivity by 20%. This led to the establishment of EF Polymer Private Limited, and their primary product, Fasal Amrit Organic Fertilizer, gained global recognition. The company’s annual revenue reached Rs 2 crores, and Narayan Lal opened a fertilizer unit in Rajsamand. With a 40% reduction in crop water consumption and a 20% increase in yield, the company partnered with farmers in the Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh region. Narayan Lal and his team received the President’s Award in 2018, and he has since received 50 awards. In 2022, Japan’s Environment Minister awarded him the Best Environment Startup award.
