Yulu - Electric Mobility
Yulu, a shared electric mobility-as-a-service startup, has announced that it is now accepting bookings for its first personal electric two-wheeler, the Yulu Wynn, for individual buyers. The company has launched the Wynn at an introductory price of Rs 55,555 for a limited period, after which it will be available for Rs 59,999. Deliveries of the electric bike will begin in mid-May.
The Yulu Wynn is India’s first electric two-wheeler for easy mobility, offering not just an intelligent commute option but also disrupting the whole ownership experience. Amit Gupta, Co-founder & CEO of Yulu, stated that the electric bike enables individuals to have an ownership experience through its mobility subscription packs that reduce the upfront cost of ownership by 40%.
This electric two-wheeler has a range of 68km and a top speed of 24.9kmph. It comes with a swappable battery that can be swapped in under one minute at any battery-swapping station on the Yuma Energy network, a joint venture between Yulu and Magna. The battery can also be charged at home using a portable charger that can be purchased as an accessory. Bajaj Auto will be manufacturing the bikes for Yulu at its CTL plant, ensuring world-class quality.
Yulu plans to increase its electric vehicle fleet to over one lakh two-wheelers and more than 500 battery charging and swapping stations over the next 12 months after raising $82 million in its Series B funding round led by Magna International Inc. Riders do not require a driving license, registration, or a helmet to ride the Wynn, but Yulu strongly urges riders to wear a helmet for their safety.
