Success stories often begin with simple problems, and Tilak Mehta’s journey is a perfect example. At just 13 years old, Tilak faced a common issue, he forgot his books at a relative’s house and needed them urgently for exams. However, he couldn’t find a fast and affordable same-day delivery option within the city.
This small inconvenience sparked a big idea. Instead of accepting the problem, Tilak decided to solve it—not just for himself, but for thousands of people facing similar challenges.
With support from his family and an initial investment of ₹25,000 from his father, Tilak launched Paper N Parcels. The startup aimed to provide same-day, low-cost delivery services within the city, focusing on efficiency and affordability.
What made his model unique was its inspiration from Mumbai’s famous Mumbai Dabbawalas system. By leveraging their highly efficient logistics network, Tilak was able to build a scalable and reliable delivery model from the very beginning.
What started as a small initiative quickly grew into a full-fledged logistics company. Over time, Paper N Parcels expanded its services beyond basic deliveries to cater to businesses such as pathology labs, boutique stores, and brokerage firms.
Today, the company has achieved a turnover of over ₹100 crore, making it one of the most remarkable startup success stories led by a young entrepreneur in India. With over 200 employees and 300 dabbawalas, the company has become an integral part of Mumbai’s logistics ecosystem.
Paper N Parcels specializes in door-to-door pickup and delivery services for parcels weighing up to 3 kg. Its affordability and speed have made it a preferred choice for businesses that require quick intra-city logistics solutions.
By combining traditional delivery networks with modern business strategies, Tilak created a hybrid model that is both cost-effective and scalable.
Tilak Mehta’s journey is not just about building a successful company, it’s about redefining what young entrepreneurs can achieve. By the age of 20, he had already established himself as one of India’s top young business minds.
His story proves that age is no barrier when it comes to innovation and determination.
