Cancer-focused biotech startup Immuneel Therapeutics has raised over ₹100 crore in a Series B funding round to accelerate the commercialization of its CAR-T therapy, expand manufacturing capabilities, and strengthen its international presence. The funding marks another significant step for India’s growing biotechnology sector and its ambitions in advanced cancer treatment.
The investment round saw participation from Singularity AMC, Rainmatter by Zerodha, and several high-net-worth individuals, along with follow-on investments from Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Eight Roads Ventures, and F-Prime Capital.
Founded by Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Siddhartha Mukherjee, and Kush M Parmar, Immuneel Therapeutics develops next-generation cell and gene therapies designed to transform cancer treatment.
The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand its GMP manufacturing capacity, accelerate research and development of its cell therapy pipeline, support the commercialization of its CAR-T therapy Qartemi, and drive expansion across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East markets.
The company has consistently attracted investor confidence, having previously raised $15 million in its Series A funding round in 2022, followed by an additional ₹100 crore extension investment from Taiba Middle East FZ LLC.
Speaking about the latest funding, Co-founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw emphasized that advanced cell therapies should become accessible to a much larger patient population instead of remaining limited to select regions and healthcare systems.
She highlighted that the new investment would strengthen Immuneel’s ability to build a globally competitive CAR-T platform from India by combining scientific innovation, scalable manufacturing, and significantly lower treatment costs compared to global alternatives.
CEO Amit Mookim stated that the successful commercialization of Qartemi has demonstrated the company’s ability to deliver world-class CAR-T outcomes at a fraction of Western treatment costs.
The Series B funding will accelerate Immuneel’s international expansion strategy while supporting the development of next-generation cell therapies for global markets. The company is also actively pursuing clinical co-development partnerships in Australia and Southeast Asia, further strengthening its international footprint.
With continued investment in innovation and manufacturing, Immuneel Therapeutics is positioning India as a major global hub for affordable and advanced cancer therapies.
