How Nytarra Naturals Is Redefining India's Home Fragrance Industry Through Purpose and Innovation

Building a Brand Rooted in Passion

Leaving a stable corporate career to build a business is never an easy decision, but for Tara Malhotra and Adheer Awasthi, it was a dream they were determined to pursue. As the founders of Nytarra Naturals, the husband-wife duo transformed their passion for wellness, fragrances, and conscious living into a fast-growing home and car fragrance brand that aims to revolutionize India’s fragrance market.

Speaking on The Startup Caffe Podcast, the founders shared how the idea was born in 2022 after years of corporate experience. While Adheer spent nearly 18 years in banking, asset management, and financial services, Tara built a successful career in sales and marketing before discovering her passion for formulation and aromatherapy.

Spotting an Untapped Opportunity

According to the founders, India has a deep cultural connection with fragrances, yet the modern fragrance market remains significantly underserved. Consumers today are moving beyond utility and increasingly looking for products that reflect their personalities and lifestyles.

Whether it’s creating a luxurious hotel-like ambiance at home or adding a signature scent to a car, fragrances have become an important part of everyday living. Recognizing this shift, Tara and Adheer decided to build a brand focused on premium, thoughtfully crafted fragrance solutions designed for Indian consumers.

A Science-Backed Approach to Fragrances

Unlike many traditional fragrance brands, Nytarra Naturals emphasizes education, ingredient transparency, and product quality. Tara became a certified formulator and aromatherapist after conducting extensive research into formulations and understanding the importance of safe, high-quality ingredients.

The founders believe consumers should pay greater attention to product ingredients and make informed choices rather than purchasing products based solely on branding or marketing.

Entrepreneurship Comes With Sacrifices

The entrepreneurial journey has not been without challenges. The founders openly shared that they left behind high-paying corporate careers and even today do not draw the same salaries they once earned.

One of the defining moments came when they appeared on Shark Tank India. Although they did not secure an investment deal, they described the experience as a valuable learning opportunity that significantly accelerated their business growth and brand recognition.

Scaling With Confidence

Nytarra Naturals has demonstrated remarkable growth since its launch. The company reported approximately ₹3 crore in revenue in FY25, nearly ₹6 crore in FY26, and is now targeting ₹12 crore as it continues expanding its product portfolio and customer base.

With increasing consumer awareness around premium fragrances and wellness products, the founders believe India presents a massive opportunity for innovation in this category.

Looking Ahead

Driven by innovation, authenticity, and a strong understanding of consumer preferences, Tara Malhotra and Adheer Awasthi are building more than a fragrance brand—they are creating an experience that brings personality, wellness, and luxury into everyday life.
