India’s booming artificial intelligence ecosystem has welcomed a new unicorn as Emergent, an AI-powered software creation platform, raised $130 million (approximately ₹1,250 crore) in a Series C funding round. The latest investment has pushed the startup’s valuation to $1.5 billion, making it one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the country.
The funding reflects increasing investor confidence in AI platforms that simplify software development and empower entrepreneurs to build applications without requiring extensive coding knowledge.
The Series C funding round was led by Creaegis, with MNI Ventures – Claypond Capital and Sentinel Global joining as co-lead investors. Existing investors including Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator also participated in the round.
The fresh capital will help Emergent accelerate product innovation, expand customer acquisition, strengthen operational capabilities, and provide the company with more than 18 months of financial runway as it scales globally.
Founded in 2025 by brothers Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, Emergent enables entrepreneurs, founders, and businesses to create full-stack, production-ready software applications using autonomous AI agents.
The platform is designed to eliminate traditional barriers to software development by allowing users with little or no coding experience to build business applications efficiently. According to the company, nearly 70% of its customers have never written code, highlighting the growing demand for accessible AI-powered development tools.
Co-founder and CEO Mukund Jha, who previously co-founded Dunzo, believes AI will fundamentally transform software creation by allowing people with domain expertise—not just technical skills, to build and manage the software their businesses need.
He added that Emergent offers an alternative to expensive software development firms, generic SaaS solutions, and the ongoing challenge of hiring skilled engineering talent.
Following its latest funding, Emergent plans to strengthen its international presence by opening a new office in Europe, where the company has seen rising customer demand.
The startup is also evaluating strategic acquisitions of smaller AI startups and engineering teams specializing in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and reinforcement learning. These acquisitions are expected to accelerate innovation while enhancing the platform’s capabilities for enterprise customers.
According to Prakash Parthasarathy, Managing Partner at Creaegis, autonomous AI platforms are creating unprecedented opportunities for small businesses to automate operations and compete more effectively. He noted that Emergent is enabling entrepreneurs to build production-grade software faster and at a fraction of traditional development costs.
Emergent’s unicorn milestone comes just months after raising $70 million in a Series B round, following earlier investments of $23 million in Series A and $7 million in seed funding. The latest funding values the company at nearly five times its January valuation, reflecting the rapid rise of AI-native businesses.
As organizations worldwide increasingly adopt AI-driven solutions, Emergent is positioning itself as a leading platform that democratizes software creation for startups, SMEs, and enterprises alike. With fresh capital, ambitious global expansion plans, and continued product innovation, the company is well-equipped to shape the next wave of AI-powered software development.
