Gut Health Startup ‘The Good Bug’ Raises INR 100 Crore in Series

In a significant development for India’s health tech landscape especially in gut health startups, The Good Bug, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup specializing in gut health, has successfully raised INR 100 crore (approximately $11.8 million) in its Series B funding round. The investment was led by Susquehanna Asia Venture Capital, with continued support from existing investor Fireside Ventures.

Strategic Vision Behind the INR 100 Crore The Good Bug Funding

Prior to this Series B round, The Good Bug startup had raised INR 35 crore (approximately $4.2 million) in a Series A extension round in October 2024, led by Sharrp Ventures. With the latest infusion, the total funding secured by the company stands at approximately INR 158.5 crore (around $18.8 million).

The newly acquired capital is earmarked for scaling research in gut microbiome science and expanding the company’s presence across India. Financial Performance in FY24

In the fiscal year 2024, The Good Bug startup reported an operating revenue of INR 43.3 crore but incurred a net loss of INR 19.6 crore. These figures reflect the company’s investment in research and development in the section of  VC funding in health startups, as well as market expansion efforts characteristic of growth-stage startups in the health tech sector.
