The Pune-based startup has raised $600,000 in a pre-seed funding round, marking an important step in its growth journey.
Founded in 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, the company is built around a clear mission, to make medical tourism as seamless as booking travel online. The founders identified a major gap in the industry: while millions of patients consider international treatment, only a fraction successfully complete the journey due to lack of reliable information and support.
Medical tourism today is often plagued by issues such as unclear pricing, dependence on informal intermediaries, and unverified healthcare providers. CureMeAbroad aims to eliminate these inefficiencies by offering a structured, technology-driven platform. Its AI capabilities help patients compare treatment options, estimate costs, and find suitable hospitals based on their specific needs.
The platform already features a directory of over 6,000 hospitals across 47 countries and 45 medical specialties. It also works with more than 380 accredited partner hospitals in key destinations like India, Turkey, Thailand, Mexico, and Georgia.
The funding round attracted a strong set of backers, including Roman Saini, Himanshu Ratnoo, and Kunal Gupta, among others. Their support reflects confidence in both the founders and the startup’s potential to disrupt a large, underserved market.
CureMeAbroad’s differentiation lies in its AI-driven approach. The platform is building advanced tools such as cost estimators, clinical matching models, and multilingual patient intelligence systems. These features aim to provide users with accurate, personalized recommendations while improving overall decision-making.
With fresh funding in place, the startup plans to strengthen its technology stack and accelerate expansion into key international markets. Initial focus areas include the GCC region, the UK, and Africa—regions with significant outbound medical travel demand.
The global medical tourism market is projected to reach $174 billion by 2035, with around 14 million patients traveling abroad for treatment each year. Despite this scale, the lack of a unified, trusted platform presents a massive opportunity. CureMeAbroad aims to fill this gap by becoming the go-to platform for medical travel worldwide.
While the vision is ambitious, success will depend on building trust, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering seamless user experiences. If executed well, CureMeAbroad could redefine how patients access healthcare globally.
