Thestartupcaffe – PR, Social Media & Podcast Platform for Startups
The global sports ecosystem is heavily skewed toward elite leagues, leaving grassroots and semi-professional tournaments largely invisible. SportVot is working to change that narrative. The sportstech startup has raised Rs 32.7 crore in a funding round led by IAN Alpha Fund, marking a significant step toward democratizing sports content creation and distribution.
The funding round also saw participation from Anicut Capital, Lets Venture, Capital A, and Sucseed Indovation, along with prominent angel investors. This diverse backing highlights growing confidence in SportVot’s vision to build scalable infrastructure for underserved sports segments.
Founded in 2019 by Sidhhant Agarwal, Yash Bhagwatkar, and Shubhangi Gupta, the startup leverages artificial intelligence to enable affordable, high-quality sports broadcasting. Its platform allows organizers—from local tournaments to semi-professional leagues, to record and stream matches in broadcast quality without expensive infrastructure.
SportVot’s technology supports both smartphones and professional cameras, making it highly accessible and cost-efficient. This hardware-agnostic approach ensures scalability across regions with varying levels of technological access.
SportVot has already made significant progress, capturing over 500,000 matches across more than 30 countries and reaching an audience of over 100 million viewers. The platform is gaining traction in international markets, including North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. With the new funding, the company plans to further expand into European, West Asian, and American markets.
In addition to content production and distribution, SportVot is building a powerful data ecosystem. Each recorded match contributes to a growing repository of sports data, enabling advanced analytics for talent scouting, performance evaluation, and commercial insights. This data-driven approach adds long-term strategic value to its platform.
SportVot’s mission is to empower the 99% of sports tournaments that currently go unnoticed. By providing accessible technology and scalable solutions, the startup aims to increase its annual coverage from 100,000 matches to 500,000 matches. Its innovative model not only enhances visibility for players and teams but also opens new monetization opportunities for organizers.
