Emerging AI startup Banza has raised $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Campus Fund, with participation from Avalanche and a group of angel investors.
The funding marks an important step for the startup as it works toward building a new category of personal artificial intelligence systems designed to truly understand individual users over time.
Banza is developing what it describes as a personal AI “Twin” , an intelligent digital companion capable of learning a user’s habits, preferences, behaviour patterns, and contextual needs to provide more personalised and user-centric recommendations.
The startup believes that current recommendation systems across digital platforms are often limited because they operate within closed ecosystems designed primarily to benefit the platform rather than the individual user.
Today’s digital services , whether food delivery apps, streaming platforms, shopping websites, or social media networks , generally recommend products and content based on their own business priorities and platform-specific data.
According to Banza, this creates fragmented and incomplete user experiences because every platform only understands one small part of a person’s preferences and behaviour.
The company aims to solve this problem by building AI that works independently in the user’s best interest across multiple aspects of everyday life.
Its AI Twin is designed to gradually learn from user interactions and behavioural patterns over time. The system could eventually help users make smarter and more personalised decisions about what to eat, what to watch, where to travel, what to buy, and how to manage daily activities more efficiently.
Unlike traditional recommendation engines, Banza’s vision is to create an AI companion that becomes increasingly intelligent and proactive as it gains deeper understanding of the individual user.
Banza believes the future of artificial intelligence lies in hyper-personalised AI systems that people can own and control themselves. Instead of AI models being owned entirely by platforms or corporations, the startup envisions a future where users build their own digital intelligence layer that evolves alongside them.
The startup says its AI Twin could eventually provide proactive suggestions and assistance before users even search for information, creating a more intuitive and personalised digital experience.
This approach reflects a broader shift in the AI industry toward contextual, human-centric AI systems capable of understanding long-term behaviour rather than responding only to isolated prompts.
The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate product development, improve user experience, and expand the startup’s team as it scales operations.
Banza also plans to strengthen the foundational technology powering its AI Twin ecosystem and continue refining its personalisation capabilities.
According to the company, the platform has already crossed more than two lakh users, indicating growing interest in AI-driven personal assistance tools among digital consumers.
