The global mobile gaming industry is often driven by unpredictability, where studios chase a single viral hit. Spill Games is taking a different route. Instead of relying on luck, the Bengaluru-based startup is building a system-driven approach to consistently create and scale successful games. With a fresh $3.1 million seed funding round led by Centre Court Capital and PeerCapital, the company is now set to expand its vision globally.
Founded in 2024 by Om Misra, Tapan Ranjan, and Harsh Garg, Spill Games is built on the idea that success in gaming can be engineered. The team focuses on structured processes, iterative development, and data-driven decision-making rather than creative guesswork alone.
At the core of Spill’s strategy is its in-house technology stack, an engine and tooling layer that supports every stage of game development. From analytics and retention to monetisation and live operations, this system enables faster and more efficient production cycles.
This approach allows the company to move from concept to launch quickly, test ideas at scale, and optimize performance based on real-time data. It also ensures disciplined capital use, which is crucial for early-stage startups operating in a competitive market.
Spill Games currently operates in the casual and puzzle gaming segment, with five live titles including Cozy Finds, Sticker by Number, and Zen Math Crossword. These games have shown promising traction in both user engagement and revenue, validating the startup’s system-led approach.
Rather than focusing on a single blockbuster, the company aims to build a diversified portfolio of games that can collectively drive growth and stability.
With the newly raised funds, Spill Games plans to scale its portfolio, deepen its technology stack, and selectively expand its team. Over the next 18 months, the startup aims to test more than 20 prototypes across casual and hybrid-casual formats.
The goal is clear: build five to ten profitable titles instead of chasing one unpredictable hit. This portfolio-driven strategy reduces risk while increasing the chances of sustained success.
Currently, Spill relies largely on ad-based revenue. However, it is now expanding into hybrid-casual formats and in-app purchases to diversify its monetisation strategy. This shift is expected to enhance revenue potential and align with evolving user preferences.
As global competition intensifies, building scalable systems rather than one-off successes could become the defining factor for gaming companies. Spill Games’ method-driven approach positions it uniquely in this landscape. While execution at scale will be key, the startup’s early progress suggests that in gaming, success may indeed be less about luck, and more about process.
