Guest: Saurabh Luthra, Founder of Eazzy
India’s home-services ecosystem is undergoing a significant transformation as consumers increasingly look for reliable, transparent and technology-enabled solutions. At the centre of this shift is Saurabh Luthra, Founder of Eazzy, who is working to bring structure and accountability to an industry that has traditionally remained highly fragmented.
Luthra’s entrepreneurial journey is backed by extensive experience across leading companies, including Mother Dairy, Flipkart, Cashify and Reliance. At Reliance, he managed large-scale businesses covering re-commerce and after-sales services, experiences that gave him a close understanding of the challenges within India’s home-appliance service ecosystem.
After years in corporate leadership, Luthra decided to return to entrepreneurship with Eazzy, an on-demand home-services company focused initially on appliances and electronics.
Eazzy aims to solve a fundamental problem: the lack of transparency and accountability in home services. Customers often struggle to know whether a technician is qualified, what work has been performed and who will take responsibility if the problem returns.
Eazzy addresses this through trained and verified technicians, transparent service information, pre- and post-service assessments, and accountability after the service is completed. Its experts are employed and trained by the company rather than operating simply as independent gig workers.
One of Eazzy’s most interesting propositions is its focus on re-commerce for large appliances. While smartphone resale has become increasingly organised, appliances such as air conditioners, televisions and washing machines often remain outside formal re-commerce ecosystems.
Eazzy seeks to connect servicing with buyback. Because the platform can track an appliance’s service history and condition, customers can make more informed decisions about whether to repair, replace or sell it.
This approach also has a sustainability dimension, helping products that can be repaired or refurbished remain useful instead of prematurely becoming electronic waste.
Technology and AI are expected to play an important role in Eazzy’s operations, particularly in improving technician allocation, predicting service requirements and helping customers decide between repair and replacement.
However, Luthra believes technology should remain accessible. The company also offers a direct phone-based service so customers who may not be comfortable using an app can still reach a human representative.
Luthra’s ambition extends beyond appliance repair. His vision is to build a “one home, one app” ecosystem where consumers can manage services, appliances, refurbished products and other home-related needs through a single platform. At the same time, Eazzy aims to create meaningful career opportunities for skilled technicians and service professionals.
For Luthra, entrepreneurship is ultimately about solving real problems while building a sustainable organisation. His journey with Eazzy reflects a larger opportunity: transforming India’s fragmented home-services market into an organised, transparent and customer-first ecosystem.
