Infosys Public Services CEO Lax Gopisetty has been reported unreachable following devastating floods in Nepal, where severe flash floods have left hundreds of people stranded or missing. The senior executive was visiting the region in a personal capacity, according to Infosys, which said its immediate priority is to ensure his safety and well-being.

Infosys Working With Authorities to Locate Executive

Infosys confirmed that Gopisetty is currently unreachable and said it is working with relevant agencies to gather information and establish contact with him.

The company has also remained in close communication with his family and is providing necessary support during the difficult situation.

“We remain in close communication with the family and are providing all necessary support during this difficult time,” Infosys said, while expressing concern for Gopisetty and others affected by the disaster.

Devastating Floods Leave Hundreds of Indians Missing

The situation has triggered significant concern among Indian nationals in the affected region. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, at least 320 Indians remained missing, while around 400 others were stranded on the Chinese side following flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border.

India has indicated that it is ready to provide all possible assistance to Nepal as authorities continue rescue and relief operations.

The MEA also said that 153 Indian nationals stranded on the Chinese side had safely crossed into Nepal. In another development, 21 Indians reached New Delhi after travelling to Kathmandu from the flood-affected areas.

Who Is Lax Gopisetty?

Gopisetty is the CEO of Infosys Public Services, the Infosys subsidiary focused primarily on serving public-sector organisations in the United States and Canada.

According to his professional profile on the Infosys website, he advises public-sector organisations on strategy, technology, operations and transformation. He also oversees the company’s broader strategy and execution.

Before becoming CEO of Infosys Public Services, Gopisetty served as Global Vice President at Infosys and led its Business Applications and Digital Workspace Service business, helping expand the practice across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

An Experienced Technology and Consulting Leader

Before joining Infosys, Gopisetty held senior leadership positions at Accenture, where he led a segment of its Health and Public Services business in North America.

His career has also included leadership roles at BearingPoint, IBM, PwC and HCL, where he worked on building and scaling technology and consulting practices.

As rescue and relief efforts continue across flood-affected areas, Infosys has said that its immediate focus remains on Gopisetty’s safety and establishing contact with him.

The situation also highlights the wider humanitarian impact of the Nepal floods, with authorities continuing efforts to locate missing people, evacuate stranded nationals and provide assistance to those affected.
